LEGAL IMMIGRANTS of HISPANIC/LATINO HERITAGE.?

Prior to 1950, the vast majority of LEGAL immigrants arrived from Europe (this includes
Spain) From 1950 to 1990 a new wave (nearly 30 million) of LEGAL immigrants arrived, many from
Latin America, Between 1951 and 1960, over 5 million People entered the country legally. Of those,
2 in 5 came from Latin America, with about 45 percent coming from Latin America.

39% of legal Hispanics work in professional jobs, this includes Technical,managerial positions, administrative support
positions compared with about 45 percent for non-Hispanic population.

Please don't make comments about illegal immigration, we don't like them either, just like you but please DO NOT JUDGE SOMEONE JUST BECAUSE HE is Latino, Hispanic. because millions and millions of us are U.S Citizens, born in the U.S or others live and work legally in this country.

Unfortunately, ignorant people don't see it like that, the word 'illegal' has become synonym of 'Hispanic' or 'Latino' and the twisted minds hate the Spanish language because of that. Go figure.

That's great. But unfortunately the media is depicting a bad image of Hispanics in genereal because of this illegal immigration problem. And all those racist organizations like La Raza, MeCHA, etc only contribute to all the negative stereotypes.

All those illegal aliens who march the streets waving Mexican flags really create a negative image towards Latinos in general. It's sad really because I'm sure most legal Latino Americans feel frustrated, embarrassed and maybe a bit angry about all the negative attention this is creating.

my problem is with the illegals, which are the equivalent of someone jumping ahead of a line...the line of many waiting their turn to come here legally and waiting their turn to do so.

I agree with you 100%. and I won't make any comments about illegal immigrants because that's the oppositive of you people...... I don't even know spanish and im 1/2 white, 1/2 mexican.... I hate when people look at me with a stupid face thinking that Im some illegal....

I just hate the ignorants who hate immigrants, legal and illegal. Specially if they are decendants of recent immigrants (like from 1950 to date) some times those are the worst.
