If I were you I would make sure that any job I took was on a large farm, or station, because they will be employing other people too. The risk of working on a small farm is that you may be the sole employee, overworked and underpaid and generally isolated - much better to have other guys around you. Good farming areas include Wairarapa, Canterbury, Southland. Good luck!! And by the way, crossbows are more illegal than guns here - just in case you believe that guy in the previous answer. ME TOO! I would love to travel there and work with the animals there and just travel and see that wonderfully clean country. I am a substitute teacher and could easily moonlight. NewZealand is a god forsaken place. You can be a crossbow maker as thats whats in most demand as they have outlawed guns. So you may not get shot up their, but you may get killed by a crossbow.
