Im planning on returning to NZ. I was born and raised there, I have a valid NZ passport, and Im returning for health reasons.Is this a good idea? Im tired of living on hand outs and I want a job... I am capable of working, even if I cant run around or dance... will social welfare help me? Unemployment is now lower here in NZ than it's been for many years. If you can't get a job, WINZ (Work and Income NZ) will help you, but I think there's an initial stand-down period of about two weeks. If your medical condition prevents you working, there are sickness and invalids' benefits here. |
