I'm a heterosexual metrosexual. Why should women have more priviledges when it comes 2 beauty,style,work,play?

Lets face it. Women have more options when it comes to wearing clothes (men's and women's), makeup, etc. More women than before are even going into male-oriented jobs/sports & yet don't get criticized as much for that as men do for getting into traditional female activities/jobs (e.g. ballet, secretary). It's REALLY bad over in Australia & New Zealand! Girls in schools get away with any style, but boys are forced to have their hair short and not wear any earrings. That is SO unfair! I'm game for basic feminism: EQUAL RIGHTS for BOTH SEXES! Even though I would be too embarrassed to wear a feminine dress (that would be so "gay"), I still like to push the envelope for me to wear a toe ring, male skirts (e.g. kilts), & do things that metrosexuals do so that women aren't superior in everything. Women are already superior in some things, so I think it's only fair that men can be superior in some ways too. When it comes to satisfying male fantasies, only then should women B totally superior.

To rise, focus on your own rising. Seeing how others are rising should INSPIRE you, not frustrate you with envy. Blaming women because you allow yourself to be forced to wear a tie is illogical and counter-productive. Don't whine and weanie out by thinking that you cannot be free unless some other segment of society is held behind you in some way. Just be your best, help others to rise and fight to be free.

Why do we get more privileges? Because we're worth it! As for toe rings, skirts and kilts, best move to Scotland if you're going to do that!

I agree there is an unfair attitude about women and men's rights. Example: A stay home dad that takes care of the family while the wife brings home the main income. If a women is a typical housewife they are not criticized yet if it's a man they are considered a "deadbeat" husband or lazy. It should be a fair world where women and men are held to the same standards!!

Men are willing to give women things, such as "privileges" because women have something men want. In fact, men will do just about anything to get it. While I'm not saying that all women do this, women do have the ability to give sex in exchange for other things from men. Men simply don't have this card to play. As the game gets played over billions of times, the result is that men, as a whole, have been willing to give women certain concessions in exchange for the privilege of having sex with them.

By the way, the whole "metrosexual" thing was dead a few years ago.

I agree, men should have more options when it comes to the things you've mentioned.

However, it's not women that are keeping you from doing these things, so don't blame us. For the most part, it's other men.

It's not that women get more privileges...it's the exact opposite. Women are so horribly self-obsessed and have such a poor self image that they think they need to have all these ways of covering up their skin and face, eyes, bodies...accessories to take the notice off of other things....

"love the skin you're in" yeah sure, if you women loved it you wouldnt need makeup in the first place....duh.

I see what you are saying but geez...for one thing you are a man, first thing you need to do is figure out why it is you want to degrade yourself like a woman does.

Now, wait wait wait wait wait. I'm with you on MOST of your statement here. I agree that more women are "crossing over" into men's sports and jobs...but I believe that men are just as guilty of crossing over into women's fashions and jobs.

As for fashion: Lately I've seen "male polish", which is nail polish for guys (In my youth - I'm in my 40s by the way) any guy wearing nail polish would have [at the very least] been hugely ostricized and [at the most] taken out back and had the @#$%^& beaten out of him). And there are so many more mens' hair styling and coloring products on the store shelves than just a few years ago (years ago a man would never admit to wearing "product" in his hair). The men's jewelry market has gone through the roof with toe rings, body piercing, necklaces, earrings (in my day, a man wore a wedding ring, watch and MAYBE a pinky ring).

As for jobs: In my youth any man who chose to become a nurse was ALWAYS and IMMEDIATLY suspected of being gay. The same held true for hair stylists, florists, models, and fashion designers.

Women will probably always be superior in some areas, and men will be in others. Men and women ARE different, and those differences will surface from time to time. We cannot escape that fact.

Beauty is not a privilege. It is forced on women and it is a heavy burden. More options when it comes to clothes? Not a privilege, it is confusing and a double edged sword. Wear just the right clothes, not too sexy - then you're a wh0re, and not too frumpy - then you're invisible, lesbian, old or ugly.

The reason women go into male oriented jobs is because BOYS are OK. The reason men don't generally go into female oriented jobs because GIRLS are NOT OK. Men associate anything feminine about themselves as bad because they think that being a girl is bad.

More double edged sword. Girls get your hair just right. Rita Hayworth an American actress from the 1940's was censored because her hair was too sexually appealing. I cut my hair short and I was told by a work mate that I should go be a lesbian. My mother was disappointed in me. Strangers that see my picture ID ask me why I cut my hair off and I looked so pretty with it long.

Men are already superior in all ways, according to many cultures. Just the fact that we are all called MEN and not women should tip you off to that.

Jespersen vs Harras Casino. A case where a woman, who worked for an establishment, as a bartender lost her job because she didn't wear makeup. One day after fifteen or so years her employer told her she would have to start wearing makeup if she wanted to keep her job, along with every other woman in the casino (not men, only the women). She was fired when she did not wear the makeup and so she sued them. She lost to the ninth district Supreme Court. She could not prove an unreasonable burden because women just naturally do that sort of thing. I know on the other hand a man would probably get fired if he tried to wear makeup in the work place, but it is only because cultures have such a hatred of women.

Well, who can play with high-heels or short dresses on or their chest half way hanging out of their shirts? Unless the game is -Don't you desire me?-

Beauty is how women are kept down. Beauty is not real and women can never be what really isn't there in the first place. But men sure can laugh at us as we chase our tails in frustration trying to achieve that myth. "Do I look good in this" Does my butt look fat" meanwhile never thinking about the real issues. Like why women have to be beautiful to begin with.

I understand why you want freedom to dress and look how you want to, but unless and until the hatred of women stops, you will always be BLUE and I will always be PINK.
