Would not traveling to Mexico, or buying goods and services make an impact on Mexico?

I heard the suggestion today on protesting by not buying anything associated with Mexico. I don't think that it would
affect the flow at all. And maybe would increase it if they
lost their resort jobs in Mexico for lack of tourism. I don't
think this will affect the situation. What is your opinion?

Mexico is already being boycotted because of this illegal immigration mess. They are stealing, kidnapping, murdering Americans. Read the news. You have to look real hard as the media is Pro illegal. You could not pay me to go to mexico now.

No. Drugs are Mexico's biggest economy. When we stop buying drugs, that will have an impact.

Actually the biggest protest would be buying things from Mexico and visiting. In order to keep people in the country they need a viable economy so that people don't come here.

No, that won't help. The illegals send their money back to Mexico. We need fines and jail time for companies that hire illegals.

What we need to do is not buy products from american companies that hire illegals. They are the reason the illegals come to this country. If we dont give them jobs then they have no reason to come here.

We live in a largely global economy, and we're tied to Mexico by NAFTA.

In fact, if anything, such an action would have more of an adverse effect on OUR economy than their's.

Plus, the economies of the countries south of the rio grande are pretty fucked up to begin with.

What we need to do is build the wall across the entire border, not just part of it. Then we need to go from city to city rounding up the illegals and deporting them. Give the unemployed the jobs that illegals were working. Then we can sit back and see how easy it is for them to get back over. Now that sounds like a plan.

I like the idea, but it won't help much. Mexico's problem is the corruption of their government and the Mexican people who allow it. We need to just guard the border like the government is supposed to do, and let Mexico go down on their own merit. Mexico has armed guards on their own southern border, and they shoot people they catch trying to cross it.
We should treat Mexico the same way Mexico treats Guatemala.
