Moving to Ireland, though nervous about the work permit......?

Looking on the different websites for relocation and residency in Ireland.. I'm becomming overwhelmed when it comes to getting a work permit... They say the prospective employer will apply for you, though you will only get it if no irish citizen or EU national that is applying for your position could do the work as good as you could... I have no obvious labor skills, nor any degrees... I work as a veterinary receptionist with no technician training.. Though when I relocate, I'll do whatever I need to do for work, but the statements are making me overly nervous.. How difficult is it to obtain a job as an immigrant in my situation?

As a vetenary receptionist you'll very easily get the permit in this predominently agricultural country with its many vets. And remember-the vets you apply to would rather have an English speaking receptionist than not. I'm not rascist but play up the fluency card against the non-English speaking EU citizens your in competition with. Good luck and welcome to Ireland.

You are thinking it will be very tough,yes it will be.But if you have a strong determination then you will feel that all that you thought was not that tough.You will definitely get the job without much difficulty
As a general rule of thumb, there is always more work to be done in any economy than there are people to do it. If you can't find work in Dublin, try a small town. There are lots of vets in rural areas, and the more remote the area, the more difficult it is to find a good worker.
well used to live in ireland i mean i can give you a couple of websites also i could give you my Aunts e-mail address,you can talk to her,cause the same thing happened,she moved when my oldest cousin was 2 and it was kinda hard for her to find a job,but then it was ok,i dont really think you should be worried but the irish laws do say that,but i really dont think you should be worried

Well, it can be tricky .. your employer will apply for a work permit, and if an employer does apply, you will get it nearly without fail ... go to job interviews and see if anyone is interested in hiring you ... and if they are, tell them you need a work permit ... if they want to give you a job, they will most definitely apply for you ...
work permits are a lot of paperwork,and a 500 euro fee for the employer.
but if they really want to hire you, the permits are usually given.plenty of work for those with no permits too,'tho harder than in the past.
