Temperary work in USA? |
Im a bricklayer from Northern Ireland, and want to work in the US for a year... What should I do to get a visa and a job?? Your best chance is to enter the Diversity Lottery for an immigrant visa. You'll never get a work visa given your occupation. The only part of the UK that's eligible for the Diversity Lottery is Northern Ireland (provided you were born there). There are many websites that sell information and application assistance for the Diversity Lottery. There's no need for you to use these rip-off artists. Contact the closest American Consulate for free information and the forms you'll need. It's not complicated. sign up with Careerbuilder.com or monster.com find a company that will take out a visa for you.. i believe that would be next to impossible due to illegal aliens are ruining that field it's not a high demand for bricklayers right now Well find out what is needed for an "american" to go to IRELAND and it should be similar in reverse right? Ideally we'd have a BETTER UN system set up where all nations woudl sort of have this "portal" type thing that people go thru to get from ONE PLACE to another. In order to go to any given place you have to have teh RESOURCES to support yourself there right? I mean I live in PA and I may want to go to CA but in order to go there I would need a place to stay and resources to support myself(money) or a job lined up right? I mean hopefully in the future things will be a lot better to teh degree of FREE WILL TrAVEL between nations... I think it is what we(people of planet earth) want at large....a "nurse is a nurse" a bricklayer is a bricklayer... no matter where one goes... now of course there are different types of bricks and if you're talking DRYLAID or WETLAID well so it goes.... But to answer your question "currently" I would suggest looking on www.hotjobs.com or www.monster.com as far as finding a job at a construction firm or something. www.link.20fr.com Hope in freedom. You need to apply for a work visa, and can do it on this site, forms and fees are are there. www.uscis.gov/ you can ask questions and get answers also. |
