Chartered Accountant.. Why am I not getting any interview calls from Ireland?

I am a non-Irish Chartered Accountant and trying to find a job in Ireland net head hunters sites. To date have applied for 20 odd jobs since last one month but did not get a single call/email. Am I following a wrong approach? Pls guide. There are hundreds of jobs on websites, I am qualified, have plenty of relevant experience and perfect for the jobs I have applied for.

Yes my qualification is ACA and I am from Pakistan. I also have some relatives in Ireland so visiting and staying there would not be an issue. I know there are a lot of accounting and finance jobs available as evident from the websites of various headhunters. So far I have applied online by attaching my CV. All I need to know from you friends is whether I need to change my procedure or anything else to get call from any agency. Once I get in touch I am confident I can handle interviews fairly easily.

Thanks in advance.

the main qualification here in Ireland are ACA, ACCA, CIMA and CPA, are you one of those? If you say chartered then I'm guessing your ACA. (I'm CIMA)

There are a lot of jobs in the finance area, you never said how you are applying for these, maybe because your not living here could have some effect as to why your not being called for interviews. I know interviewing is an expensive process, maybe they need additional assurance that you can attend the interviews. Why not set a date, come over and ask the agency your with to arrange interviews for that week

Where are you from? That could easily be the reason they aren't calling. There are costs and hassles related to importing labor. Maybe there are enough accountants in Ireland to fill the positions they have.

Get in touch with a head hunter based in Ireland, and he'll be able to help.
