HELP, I want to work in Ireland but need some help...?

I am a recent college grad from the US and really want to work/move to Ireland. This is proving to be really tough. I originally wanted to work as an au pair in Ireland but have been told that it is impossible to get a working visa for this there. I could get a student visa if I apply to the school there but I woule prefer to find a job. I have a degree in psychology and don't really know where to start looking. I particularly would like to work in Galway, so if anyone can offer me advice on a working visa and how difficult it is to get one, or how to get one, where to look for a job and so forth, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

IM not sure how difficult it is you will need a permit and a visa. It seems from the site on work permits that you need an offer of employment first im not sure. Her are links to the relevant sites.

it definitely seems easier to get a student a visa. If you did a master for example then you can apply for a special graduate work permit taht allows you to stay for 6 months after graduation to find a job and then all you would have to do is keep extending that permit. I happen to know that the national university of Galway does a1 year long masters in health psycology. Heres alink to the college site too.

Good luck.
