How much money do I need to save for a 6 week trip to south east Asia(including flights from Ireland)??? |
Am thinking of quitting my job this Summer and going travelling in SE Asia especially Thailand for some much needed r&r before hopefully going back to college in the autumn. How much cash should I have saved up for this trip do you think? Would like not to slum it too much... some of my friends went to thailand for 6 weeks last summer and not including the price they paid for their flights which was roundabout 鈧?000 they spent about 鈧?500 and 鈧?000. they didnt work at all over there and said that they did everything that there was to do ! considering thailand is pretty cheap i think thats alot of money to spend in 2 weeks but to be safe i think you would at least need 鈧?500. try talk to some people who've been over there and see what their thoughts are! if i was you i would use www.ytb.com/fkarengi to save money for the trip a lot of money use it and see ho much it will cost plus you can use it for good hotels for less I spent last spring to visit some of SE country. When my beau and I went for a trip at some of the islands and cities in the Philippines last Oct. to Dec. 2006 (6 weeks holiday).. we spend almost $3,000 excluding the international airfare. Prepare at least $2,500 excluding the airfare of course. <*-*> It really depends on which parts of SE Asia you wish to visit. As a rough guide spending money should set you back about 鈧?000 - 鈧?200 per month, flights from Ireland are about 鈧?000, the cheapest countries are Cambodia, Laos & Vietnam, Thailand can be a bit more expensive especially for accommodation in the more touristy areas. Travel in general is cheap although overall a lot will depend on what you consider slumming it is |
