Living in Horsham ?

Me and my Wife are moving to UK from Dublin,Ireland
In November. We are planning to move to Horsham or Ealing.

What i want to inquire is are these nice places ?

Anyone living there please assist ?
We are considering a place based on the following criteria

Low Crime
Plenty of Jobs
reasonable prices of houses.
Ease of transportation.
Socially Active.
Reasonable Price for rent.

P.S I know no place is perfect but one can be definitely better than the other.

Thanks for your <sensible> replies in advance :)

When you get there, you had better start saying "My wife and I" or you may find you are unemployable.

I am not asking for a grammar lesson here.
Its cyber world and mistakes are always made.If you are so perfect move to a different world !

I live in Brighton so maybe not the world's expert on Horsham but hopefully this'll be more helpful than the previous answers you've had.

Low Crime - Horsham has recently been in the local news for the low crime in the area but like most areas will experience the normal weekend antics in the centre of the town.

Plenty of Jobs - There's a few big employers in the town, Royal Sun Alliance (Insurance) and WDR (Training) being two. For more jobs you'd most likely want to look further afield. Brighton, Worthing, Guildford, Crawley, Gatwick and London are all within reasonable commutes either by road or rail (some are harder by train).

Reasonable prices of houses - Er, you might want to look around but I'm sure there's some somewhere. Horsham is not exactly known for its cheap house prices.

Ease of transportation - Good links on rail, just off the M23 on the road front, Gatwick is not far and on the ferry front you've got Dover, Folkestone, Newhaven, Portsmouth and Southampton which are drivable.

Socially Active - Not quite Ibiza so you might want to look a little further afield to Crawley (if you really need to), Guildford or Brighton

Reasonable Price for rent - Hmm see above.

When you get there, you had better start saying "My wife and I" or you may find you are unemployable.

Me and my wife might be correct in Irish English. But I don't know.

Horsham is a typical southern english market town, and is average in every respect.
Ealing is a suburb of West London, and is also fairly average. It has a high immigrant population.

They are both so average that they are both quite boring. Why not have a flat in Mayfair, and another one in Brixton?
