Jobs have been outsourced to India & China: Do we get a quality service or we don't have any choice left?



It is their accent or the knowledge or understanding to address the technical issues and find the solution in a timely manner that bothers you?

For a good understanding of why American jobs are going overseas, just look at the product of our public schools.
It's more like the giving away of those jobs for labor exploitation economic strategy rather than training people here in the U.S. to handle such positions and pay them a living wage. Where's your allegiance to the Middle-class--you sound like some kinda silver spoon type.
I think it is the off-hand attitude. I once tried to buy a Dell laptop over the Internet. I was very anxious to take delivery of it in as short a time as possible, but the days dragged on...and on...and it did not appear. With great difficulty I finally persuaded Dell to give me the customer service helpline, which was in India. After explaining my plight, I was very put out to hear the voice at the other end say, as though it were the most everyday thing in the world: "I'm afraid that your order has been unaccountably cancelled." No explanation, no apology...and this was customer service!
If our government invested in furthering our educations like those two countries do theirs, we would not have to ask this question. On the other hand, many of our college educated people "party" their way thru college and take mom and dad's sacrifices for granted so...... don't do what I did. (Partied like hell and forgot to go to college!)


So, you need to sacrifice and educate yourselves and hope like hell your job doesnt get outsourced.


Quality of service? My computer and my cell phone provider have call centers within 50 miles of my location so I have never dealt with a foreign call center, knowingly anyway
I have some serious complaints about outsourced tech support and customer service that I have to deal with on the phone vs via email. I can generally understand English spoken by a native Chinese or Vietnamese speaker, but the English spoken by the eastern Indians is gobbledygook on the phone to me and apparently MY English might as well be Cherokee to them because I spend most of the conversation repeating myself over and over again.

Mind you I don't blame the folks manning the phones. If they had to call ME for tech support and listen to me mangle Urdu or Cantonese, they'd be ticked off too. It just hacks me off that corporate America is so eager to offer shoddy customer service in order to save a few bucks.
Outsourcing is treason. Businesses that do it must have their property confiscated. After all, they don't own the business, they only own the workplace, which has no value without American workers.

Eminent Domain means that all property is on American territory and reverts back to the people if property rights (really rentals) are abused.
No, and no. We have no choice in the matter and the service is horrible. And yes, the corporations are getting richer and richer.
