What can be done about many of the USAs tech jobs moving to India?

The Internet is a double edged sword. Today anything that doesn't require ones personal presents can be done over the Internet. The well to do of the 1st World are complacent. The poor of the 1st world believe they're entitled. Both no longer feel that contributing to society is a responsibility of the individual. No one is even considering what will happen when the energy crisis collides with the Baby-boomers' retirement bill.

Many don't wish to take the challenging classes. We also don't have the facilities to build most of the products we use today.

It is unlikely for the 1st world to stay the 1st world.

Nothing because sadly the US doesn't graduate near enough people with the skills needed for those jobs .

Don't deal with companies that outsource. Don't deal with people who cannot speak good English.

Illegal American Immigration to India.

We cannot do a thing.it is the choice of the companies.

Our children need to do better in school. Especially, Math and science.

Boycott those companies who outsource these jobs. I am sick and tired of calling customer service and hearing a foreign voice that I cannot understand.

Move to India. If you really want to answer the phone all day for a living, then you can move to a place where your skill is a commodity.

Nothing. It is the same in the UK. Indians will work for much less and expect fewer benefits

Somehow make Indian wages more expensive than US wages for the same job. Which won't happen, at least not for a long, long time. Even then, they would most likely be outsourced to a different emerging technological country who could pay their tech employees less than US employees.

In a word, nothing.

Work for less money and companies will stop outsourcing all of the work other than that complain and ***** to the politicians and hope they do something.

nothing much. outsourcing is cheaper. you think corps. are gonna miss out on lower costs? Some companies need to outsource to survive.

Go and tell Indian people in India to stop working. Nothing you can do about it I'm afraid.

When Americans with technical degrees and skills are willing to work for 10 bucks an hour or less, the jobs will stop moving to India and both Americans and Indians will be happy because they have employment.

tax the hell out of the companies who send jobs there...make them bleed money

lower wages in USA, increase in education for IT in USA, higher wages in india.

the question you ask is a natural result of capitalism, thus nothing can be done short of restricting free trade. companies will always go for the cheapest option (balanced with ligitmacy and relaibility) thus to remain competative, the USA needs to either increase eduaction to show that it can do something different to what the indians offer, or workers need to choose to accept competative wages and pay.

this will all eventually even out as workers in india expect higher wages, but then comanies will jsut seek elsewhere for their chear labour, unless you offer something no one else can offer, then you are an exception to the rule.

Convince Americans to stop the unionized workforce so that Companies might have a chance of making things a little cheaper over here so they don't need to employ cheep labour over there.

Unions won't let it happen. Soon there will be none left, however, and Companies will be able to start all over again, after they find all the things they're buying from China are actually killing them, like here in Canada. (Toothpaste laced with antifreeze, children's toys painted with lead paint, and so on.)

Raise hell! Those people who say that nothing can be done are either profiting from the outsourcing or simply don't know what the hell they are talking about. The fact that the citizens of this country stopped the immigration bill should tell everyone that we still run this country. We the people just have to raise enough hell and it will change.

I doubt anything can or will be done. Ever notice the word "competitive" has been substituted for "cheap labor" by the corporations? Profits is profits.

You are in essence moving or keepings jobs overseas every time you buy a foreign made product. Are you buying American? It is not an easy task, especially when you compare prices.
