1. If God is everywhere, what's the difference between heaven and earth?
-When people say they are going to heaven, they assume they will be next to God. But if they are next to God right now, they are setting themselves up for a big disappointment. I think so anyway.
2. If God is everywhere, is he in hell?
-This opens up a slew of contradictions. Either the Christian god is not omnipresent or he steps foot into the epitome of evil. This is not the only time we'd see god dancing with the devil. (see Job)
3. If God is all loving, would he really allow 3/4 (or more) of his children to suffer eternally?
-Statistically speaking, I'd say about half or less Christians actually practice true Christianity. So the question, based on the argument of "God's grace", is the following. Can a loving God let all of these children suffer eternally?
BIBLICAL CONTRADICTIONS AND ILLOGICS
1. Sins of God.
-Murder- 10th plague, Flood, Sodom/Gomorrah, Job's family, sacraficing Jesus, Revenge/Wrath- Plagues 1-9, Flood and punishment in the following... (Numbers 16:46, Numbers 18:5, Deut 9:8, Deut 29:20, 1 Sam 28:18, 2 Sam 6:8, 1 Chron 27:24,...) -How can a perfect God sin? He breaks his own commandments and performs his own vices. I often read texts about how "proud" God is as well.....
2. The Messiah's mother wasn't supposed to be a virgin-
-"Almah" means pure in Hebrew. The messiah wasn't prophesied to be immaculately concieved, just conceived from a pure woman. In fact, he needed to be physically born from the "Seed of David" (see David below) to be elligible for the position. Jesus wasn't born with anyone's seed. This is a problem...Hmmm
CHRISTIANS WERE WRONG AND KILLED PEOPLE FOR BELIEVING OTHERWISE
1. The flood wiped out humanity
-Unfortunately the chinese empire has no such records of a 4000 b.c. flood wiping out their people.
INTERESTING FACTS
1. Not even 1/3 of the Earth is Christian
2. There have been over 34,000 seperate Christian groups identified
3. Though they preach love and tolerance, they are the sole cause of crusades, inquisitions, witch trials, the KKK, Nazis, abortion clinic bombing, and suicidal cults.
5. In order to be a Christian you must love Satan-
-That's right, as Jesus commanded "love your enemies". Well if Satan isn't your enemy, you have bigger problems than loving him.
6. Jesus is actually based off Mithra.
-The story of a divine child being born of a virgin mother on December 25th, performing healings and resurrections, having 12 disciples (the signs of the zodiac), and having a last supper with flattened bread (which had crosses on them by the way to symbolize the sun) was all done a few thousand years before Jesus. Yes, Jesus is a rip-off of the Persian god of "light and truth" (those symbols Sound familiar?). Mithra makes Jesus look like a cheesy rerun. Look up Mithra yourself if you don't believe me.
7. The Christmas tree is pagan
-In order to convert pagan Germany into Christianity, Christians adopted their false god (trees) into the festival of Christmas. "See guys, we worship trees too". ONE OF US! ONE OF US!
-Interestingly enough, this custom is condemned by the bible in Jeremiah 10:1-5. "Do not learn the ways of the nations... they cut a tree out of the forest...they adorn it with silver and gold"
8. There are several missing books from the intended bible.
-Didn't you ever wonder why only 6 of the 12 apostolic books made it into the bible? (Mat, Mark, Luk, John, Pet, James) And did you ever wonder why only 4 of these are considered gospels? (Mat, Mark, Luk, John) If you read the book of Thomas you would realize that none of these stories are inspired by "God". You'd realize that they are all wild attempts at making a normal person look divine. (In Thomas, little jesus turns clay fish into real ones for no purpose) It's just that half of these books seemed to make Jesus look better than the rest. The other half simply contradicted everything Christians currently believe.
13. Christian faith is unbending
-This is my personal favorite. Ask a Christian the following: "If Zeus came out of the sky and said he was the God of the universe and renounced Jesus as having any divine power, would you still believe in Jesus?" Every Christian says "yes I would still believe in jesus". This proves, (regardless of whether or not Christianity is right or wrong) that they would actively believe in something that was proven wrong.
Have A Very Happy Day... Could I have a SHORTER QUESTION, Please?
( I'd rather read 'The God Delusion'. ) hmmm plagiarism.......
They are all very good arguments, but add your source.
http://www.angelfire.com/droid/risky/rea... In Buddhism, believing in a god is unnecessary. So no. god is mythology YE S BUT NOT WHEN THE PASTOR AT THE CHURCH ONLY WANTS THE MONEY FROM THE PEOPLE WHO ARE THEIR i do believe in God..because frankly..i don't come from a monkey...the earth did not come about by some big bang theory....and i believe a group of archeologist's found Noah's ark. you are a very disturbed person. One day you will understand Grasshopper; until then keep grasping... Yes, I believe in God. You are correct - Christians are far from being perfect, are sinners, and often are very poor representatives of Jesus Christ. However, Jesus Himself is perfect, unblemished, and without sin. the true question here is...
do you believe in santa clause? And you take this argument as fact?
Half of the cases on there are based solely on assumptions and things that have nothing to do with the existance of God or Jesus...
Sad argument That was fantastic. Lets watch the Christians totally ignore everything you said. *sits back to observe*
Edit: Melissa... when your religion stops trying to get everyone else to live by your religion whether they want to or not, then everyone else will shut up. Maybe you can come and tell the JW that came to my house yesterday to never come back to my house and he'd actually listen because it certainly doesn't work for me. You Christians don't listen real well. Why are so many people attempting put us christians down? Why don't you just let us live our life with God and our faith. Because athiests don't believe in God there is no reason for them to convert us to their faith to be saved from an eternal hell..because there is no faith. And yes, like someone before me, archeologists did find an ark. And God has never sinned. i do believe in God/Goddess/Higher Power/Divine Presence*
For me god is everything or god is nothing. Obviously i am not considered one of the christian faith, but i do believe...
I hope you find what it is you are seeking.
Blessed Be interesting... but there's always an answer for it. christians are very adept at self delusion
and greeley, you're right, you don't come from a monkey. you come from an ape.
they found an ark, seriously? well, i guess that's it for me guys, i'm going to church. btw, they've found thousands of ancient boats. and i don't think any of them are big enough to fit two of each species. There is a company that believes in God, if fact, that's how they make their money.

You cannot convert Christians
They are way over your head
The carnal mind, or the flesh mind without the spirit of God
Is like a vapor carried by the wind and blown to and fro
Only the spiritual mind can receive the things of God I very much appreciate your research. Are you an active atheist or an active "some other religion"? I love all the info you have just provided. I hope people will atleast realise these contradictions and ponder about them and question their religion before coming to question others. I got tired reading your long list. You must have exhausted your parents growing up. Ask yourself one question. What if you're wrong? Anyone can find a million reasons not to believe in God. But just try proving that there is one with the same passion. God is not found in the reasoning intellectual thinking of men (or women). He is found when he is sought out. God does not allow suffering. We do. God does not move out of need, but out of faith. If you have no faith, you will never see God 's miracles. God does a great amount of work through his people.
I do agree with you on one point. A large percentage of Christians don't practice true Christianity. I have attended the "country club" church where people become members for the prestigious association. And I have been to the church where miracles are sought out every service (even if we stay until 2:00 a.m.). But even with all the churches that get it wrong, there are people that try to get it right. Some Christians really do love and assist their fellow man, expecting nothing in return. They are the true followers of Christ. What is so hard about believing that there is a God that loves and cares for you? Just take a leap of faith into the unknown and if you truly want to find the truth, He will reveal it to you. Signed, A real believer. The simplified stories are easy for a toddler to understand, and the illustrations keep their interst and attention. A great first online children bible.http://www.childrenstory.info/biblestory... |
