I have a question? |
Let's say I have a thousand dollars...how much would I have in Paris? I'm graduating soon and really want to move there..my best friend has been going back and forth between here and France her entire life and I've never had a chance to go with her.So, now I decided if I'm going,I'm staying.The biggest problem is finding a job for the person coming with me.So if you have any info on construction jobs there it would be a lot of help. To answer your first question, $1,000 in the U.S. is equal to 786 Euros in France (which is the country's currency) at current rates. The answer to your second question is tough. France has very restricted labor laws that make it very difficult for non-French blue collar workers. The government and unions are very powerful. As a result, the unemployment rate is very high (almost 10%) and it is hard to find a job if you don't have the right degree or connections (finance, engineering, fashion design, etc.) Before you pack, parlez-vous francias? While some people in Paris speak English, it is difficult if not impossible to find one, especially if you are in a working environment. What about the "person coming with me"? Unless he can speak the language it would be impossible to get a construction job. |
