Where to start a career as an aeroplane / helicopter pilot..?

Someone close to me is trying to get his foot in the door in the aviation industry as either an aeroplane or helicopter pilot...

French nationality, has mostly Australian & U.S licenses.

Can't fly in France as he doesn't have European licenses...

Commercial Pilot, Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating, ATPL (frozen)

Approx. 300 hours aeroplane

Approx. 110 hours helicopter (turbine endorsed)

Can't get sponsorship in Australia from a company for his first job.

Some have told him to try in Africa....

Detailed responses would be really helpful....

Any suggestions to start his career...?

Thanks guys!!!

Well, to be honest, his flight time is pretty low to be flying PIC (Pilot in Command). Alaska has a rather sticky flight time requirement for most air carriers; most are looking for a minimum of a thousand hours, but if you fly, you have to fly Alaska!

I am including a couple of web sites that may help including a base web site for Alaska itself (we are kinda big and spread out; 2 1/2 times larger than Texas, and span from Savannah Ga. to San Francisco, Ca.)

I wish you you friend God Speed and clear skies. Source(s): www.temscoair.com/employ_Pilot...

Try Alaska.
search flightschool, pilot school, air force, air national guard, navy, and try techy colleges like MIT NYIT
The Navy and Air Force will be looking for many pilots soon. Perhaps they would train you.
There are many smaller private jet and helicopter operators that might be more willing to type rate and train a new pilot. Pilots are in high demand right now, especially if you have experience. http://www.legfind.com/sitemap.aspx?site...
