Will a degree in the US be sufficient in France?

I am currenlty working towards a masters in Oriental medicine and acupuncture and want to find out if it can cross borders and be used to find a job in France, but I don't know what France's requirements are or how to find out what they are?

It may be a good idea to have worked as an acupuncturist (or even as an assistant) before you go.

The French are hypochondriacs. They have the best health system in the world and everything is subsided.

There are hilarious and true stories running around about how if you go to France and try to get asprin you have to see the doctor and then the pharmacy who will try to give you 5 big bottles of the stuff or subscibe seaweed baths for back pain.

I'm not sure of your nationality but you'll probably need an Schengen working visa if you're not a citizen of the EU (the schengen will allow you to work in other countries such as Spain, Italy Greece, Germany etc). You may find it a bit hard getting a job in France if you don't speak French (you should be able to work in Paris though) and you're not EU. Unemployment is a bit high in France.

I have no idea. It is pretty hard to find employment in Europe. They just don't offer it to Americans. Assuming you are American the French aren't too fond of us. Maybe try and find a French Embassy you can call.

I very much doubt it. The French have an implicit belief that their educational system, language, and bureaucracy is superior to all others, and all three of these will conspire to confound you.

However, I do love the vision of a small chinese acupuncture clinic, with a good hearted but dumb american proprietor, nestled amongst the artists and cafes of Montmartre, so I wish you the best of luck.

You can always sell soap and deodorant as a side line. I'm sure you can sell something to those smelly bastards.
