Can I live in France if I telecommute to work for a US company?

My job allows me to telecommute full-time which has given me a certain degree of freedom with where I live. I'm interested in moving to France. Is it possible to live there if I already have a job that would allow me to telecommute? And by doing so, is it possible to become a French citizen after a certain amount of time?

if you did undertake this, rest assured that French Income Taxes would apply.

for the rest, please consult the official webiste of the government of France.

btw, if you can't speak and read French, they're likely not interested.

:-)

Post this question on the French site in French.

If you don't speak French, learn it.

Then apply for a Carte de Soujour and it may well be granted.

Hi

I can't quote the exact rules & regulations.

However, I know several people in your position. i.e. people with overseas incomes (including from US) who live in France.

So, it can be done. I'd suggest you ask the question on these French expat forums :

Bonne chance

Yes you can...you would need to speak French. It's a good idea if you can do so. Living in Europe is a great experience. I did it for 5 years. It also helps to understand how lucky we are to be Americans. France is a beautiful country, the people are very nice. Good Luck.
