Am I eligible to unemployment money in France if I move there to find work i.e until I find a job there? |
I am Irish but have lived in UK for 18 years. Of course not, you will have to py into the system, i lived in Spain for nearly 2 years and had to pay into the system 6 months before i had any entitlements. Other countries are not as soft as we are. My wife1s best friend is French, she was entitled to very little when she moved back.... You should get off of your lazy butt and find a job. Uh, no, I don't think so. Also, it's not like you can just move to France and find a job--France has VERY strict rules about who can and can't (legally) work there. VERY, VERY strict rules, which are the subject of much political debate at the moment. If I were you, I would do some serious research on this before you make any rash decisions. No, you aren't. you would only be eligible for unemployment money in France if you have worked there for more than a day , you would have to register with the a.n.p.e they organise jobs www.a.n.p.e.fr This is a distasteful question. I certainly hope not; I know how cross I get when people arrive in the Uk and think they can get benfits immediately. FInd a job before you go you can get French newspapers with job adverts in over here. Unemployment is for after you've worked a job and lost it through no fault of your own. (factory closed, laid off or wrongful termination) Get a job before you go - its not fair on French taxpayers to have to support you as soon as you step off the plane any more than it is fair on UK taxpayers or Irish taxpayers to support immigrants who come to the UK and Ireland without work or means of support. I am an Englishman who worked just outside Paris for a year to improve my French in 2000, I found a job through the British job centre within a week of looking. My interview was even held in London so I did not have to travel far. It was admittedly at Disneyland Paris, but it came with it's own accommodation and was rather fun at the time. It is so very easy to find work in France from England before you even set foot in their country with jobs of all kinds suitable to your experience and command of the French language. There are even British companies that will employ you to work in France in the tourist industry, they hold interviews all over the UK. One thing I should mention is that France is a very patriotic nation and as you will be their guest it is advisable that you should not take advantage of their hospitality, anyway like many others who have commented, you would not be in titled to claim benefits till you had already been in employment there. One thing you will need to apply for when you have a job is 'La fiche d'etat' which is like an ID card and a permit to work and live. You get these from the local town council building and only then can you receive any form of public health treatment through your employer. So for your own sake make sure you get employed before you leave. Good luck and have fun. check this link its good |
