What was called the name of the coin in the 17 century in France?

Im doing a project for history (grade 7) and i have to do an advertasing poster about Coureurs de bois, but hte thing is that one of the ideas i need to put how much the job is oging to pay them; so does anyone know what was called the name of the coin in the 17 centurey like dollar or euro.

thnx you are really helping me. Anyway thnx!! lol ;) :)

this is interesting.

until 1640, france used the franc, then louis XIII remaned the coin the "louis".

it changed back to the franc after the revolution of 1789.

they were divided into ecus and sols - things were cheap in those days, a franc would have been a lot of money to most people. :)

so it depends which half of the 17th century you are talking about.

The name of the coin for France under the rule of King Louis XIII was "Jeton".
Hope that helps!鈾?/div>

There were a number of different coinages used by the French at that time period.

Louis' d'Or were gold coins of the highest denomination.

In addition, there were LIVRES, PISTOLES, SOU, and a couple of other coins that slip my mind.
