What could I do with Chemistry? |
I am studing for my A-Levels in Chemistry, Biology and French at the moment. I am thinking about studing for a degree (MSc) in Chemistry with French at the University of Birmingham. The traditional route used to be Chemistry with German - most papers were actually written in German, hence the necessity. For info about careers in chemistry, look up the Royal Society of Chemistry web site. For the same info specifically in France, look up Societe' de Chimie francais (hope I got that right). check out the royal society of chemistry, in chemsoc if you look around it has links to the other european societies. There are non-chemistry avenues to follow, as well. The son of one of my colleagues got his BS in chemistry many years ago and was immediately hired by Hewlett-Packard. He is now a top network systems analyst and trouble shooter. HP sends him all over the world with a handsome salary and a very decent expense account, not to mention bonuses and a nice retirement package. I'm going for biochemistry myself so although I'm biased, I believe biochemistry brings chemistry onto a whole new level. |
