What visa do I need ?

Hi,
I actually live in France
Next year, I would like to go to study at University/College in the US.
After my studies, I don't want to come back in France, I would like to stay in US and find a job there.

What visa(s) do I need ?

You would need to come on a student visa, then after college you would need to find a US company willing to sponsor you for a H1B (work visa) which is valid for three years and can be renewed for a total of six years. While on a H1B the US employer may decide to sponsor you for a green card, once you have the green card after five years then you can apply for US citizenship

You can start with a student visa, then apply later on to become a permanent resident (takes longer), then years later for Citizenship. Visit the USCIS website for more information. Hope this helps.

To get a student visa, you will need to apply for an F1 Visa. This is the typical visa valid for as long as you are enrolled in a degree program. After you graduate, you have 1 year to look for employment. When looking for employment, you can get either a H1B visa (which allows you to work here for a max of 6 yrs) or find a company which will sponsor you for permanent residency (on the grounds that they cannot find an American for that particular position).
