Is there a site where I could meet people who are interested in road trip cross US or trip to other countries?

I've quit my job recently and planning to go on a trip. Just pack up and leave for a month(s) or who knows a year(s)? I'm thinking of road trip cross the US or outside of the state (ie. Japan, France, Italy, and/or Greece) and since I'm alone on this idea I'm looking for others who I could join with. Is there any way? Are they any websites for this kind of topic?

And also, I been living in New York for yearsssss and I just want to go to the country side and just live there for awhile just couple months. And help out with the work around the house, barns, etc... if there are any places like this. Similar to dorm life, is I think what I'm trying to describe as? Any ideas?

There is always couch surfers! You could spend a couple months in Europe bouncing all around on people couches! I am planning on taking a trip next summer! If you register an account there you can join groups with people who want to do the same thing as you!
