What do british citizens need to work in europe?

Is it different for each country? Do we all just wander about now being members of the EU getting jobs where we like or do we need to apply for visa's or are we restricted to the amount of time we can stay. I'd like to travel and work throughout Europe thats why I ask. Thanks very much.

Anyone from the UK is totally free to work and live in any other EU country for as long as they like - no visas, no restrictions. You just need to be able to prove that you are eligible to work in the UK itself, either by providing your national insurance number or by having a British passport.

You can even work and live freely in some non-EU countries like Norway and Switzerland, though that's where things get complicated.

You can work anywhere in europe. You just have to be carefull about coming backwards and forwards from country to country. Cause if you work in say Germany and come back to Britain more than say 90 days in total a year. You might have to pay british tax on your earnings as well.
