If in European Union there arent borders, then people can kidnap and smuggle people into other countries?

if someone kidnaps a child in one country that is a part of EU, can the kidnapper goes into another EU country without being checked on the borders? I dont see how this is useful in European Union (if it is true). I heard on the news that they are closing down the borders and the customs officers will have to look for another job. then many young people and kids can be kidnapped, be forced into sex slavery and smuggled into another bigger country. then it will be too hard to find missing people, if they wont control the borders. or how this thing works in European Union?

I'm not worried about trafficking drugs. its so horrible when a young girl is kidnapped and forced into prostitution. many girls and even boys that are kidnapped ends in sex slavery.

if there wont be any borders, then how will they control all this human smuggling? or is it different? cause I'm not sure what I really heard.

This will definitely be a problem. I wasn't sure about the open border goal having heard there will still be borders but just less restrictions so I looked it up.

It reads:
"maintenance of freedom, security and justice without internal borders, and an internal market where competition is free and undistorted"

So it appears you are absolutely correct in your worries. I don't know what else to say except that hopefully they will increase policing this type of crime.

Border restrictions have been pretty well gone for over 10 yrs. I went from France to Italy to Germany back to France then Spain without customs. It's no different than going around the united states.
