Is it easy for me to live and work in Denmark being a British Citizen?

I want to go over to Denmark to live for a few months (maybe on a permanent basis at a later date)

But firstly i have to be able to find a job and some where to live. Please can someone tell me what i would need to do and if it would be easy to carry out my plans, being a fellow member of an EU country....

Thanks for your future help everyone.... :)

It depends on how long you want to stay. I believe you can stay for up to three months as a tourist with no problems. If you do this, I'd advise you to go to the touristic areas during the summer months to find a job there - it shouldn't be too difficult, provided you're not choosy about the job. I'm not sure how it all works with summerjob, but contact the British Consulate in Denmark and they should be able to help you.

If you're thinking longer it's good to either have a job lined up before you go or to have some savings in the bank (I believe you need 50.000 DKK), when you have either, you need to find a place to live, once you have that, the easiest thing is to move to Denmark and then apply for a permit once you're there (this has to be done within the first three months), you do this at the "Kommune" you're staying in. If you have the savings or the job, it should be a mere formality to get a 5 year residence permit. The whole process usually takes around 14 days (it took us less than 24 hours).

Once you have your permit, you go to your local "kommune office", they will give you a CPR-number. You need this number for everything (job, banks, health insurance etc.), so my advice is to apply for a permit as soon as possible. Your health insurance card will then arrive by mail around 1-2 weeks later.

Denmark are desperately looking for employees, so all depending on what level of education you have it could be fairly easy for you to find a job - on the other hand, it could definitely be a problem for you if you don't speak Danish.

All the best

JUST MOVE THATS WHAT THE EU IS FOR YOU CAN LIVE ANYWHERE WITHIN THE EU WITHOUT OR VERY FEW FORMALITIES AND ALSO WORK FREEDOM OF LABOUR FREEDOM OF TRADE IT IS THE BASIC RIGHT FOR ALL MEMBERS

ask their embassy

Might not be so easy but possible so determination is considered and takes the biggest part whereby be sure of what u need and confident.

why would you want to go there when there all over here, it would be a lot simpler to just learn the language and stay at home.
