What are the requirements under NAFTA for a US Citizen to get a management job in Canada? |
I understand that I need a work permit, and that I probably need a job offer and a Labor Market Opinion (LMO) from Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC), stating that that the proposed employment will not adversely affect Canadian workers. However, I also believe that NAFTA allows for more open standards north and south of the border. Can someone clarify this for me? 3 months agoSo, if I have a job offer and a degree, and the employer is engaged in primarily Canadian business, I can still get a permit (given I am not infringing on a Union job? Look at NAFTA article 1603 section-D, if you qualify under this section you can get the work permit at the border. You have to have a degree and have a job offer. lign="right" > Sign in to vote! lass="explain-text">Sometimes none of the answers get it just right. If so, pick "No Best Answer".
