What is the labor law for paid breaks while on the job in canada?


I want to know how much time at work before you are intitled to a paid 15 minute break, and if the employer can take that paid break away if you leave an 8 hour shift an hour early?

Employers are not obligated to pay for break periods. They must give the employee a half hour break after 5 continuous hours of work. If the employer decides to pay you for your break, you MUST stay in the building during your break. If you leave the building, he doesn't have to pay you.
