OK so i have been offered a job in canada as a personal trainer. I am a British Resident, but reside in U.S.A?

OK so i have been offered a job in canada as a personal trainer. I am a British Resident, but reside in U.S.A what is the process now for my employers to get me a VISA, and how long and what is the cost of this.

Thanks

The employer MUST apply to HRSDC for a LMO, but there must be extenuating circumstances for the government to give the employer to hire a foreigner over a canadian.

The employer needs to contact HRSDC and ask for the forms required to file for an LMO.

I'm thinking since personal trainer is not on the NOC list, then you may be out of luck.

"I am a British Resident, but reside in U.S.A" is a contradictory statement. It's like saying, "I live here, I live there." Did you mean you're a British citizen who resides in the U.S.?

If so, accepting employment outside the U.S. will have an effect on your immigration status and tax status. If you have a green card, you'll have to file a tax return in the U.S. for your worldwide income.

If you stay outside the U.S. too long, you'll put your resident status in the U.S. in danger.

On the other hand, if you become a landed immigrant in Canada, you'll escape taxation in the U.S., and you can turn in your green card because you won't need it.

You should apply the working visa through Canada Manpower and Immigration. Generally, many years ago Canadian government legislated laws to give the perference for Canadians first then the foreigners. I think the best bet is go by your employer a a sponsor to make enter Canada to work easily to break through the red tape.
