I just wanted to clarify what the lady says below me here. I am now a Canadian citizen but worked here as a landed immigrant from UK for 15 years. It is true that if you are thinking of moving to Canada you will have to go through a process. As far as getting a job here it is only true that you will not be able to get any "Government job" unless you are a Canadian citizen, other than that it is based on experience, you can get any other job as long as you are a landed immigrant or have a visa.
As far as you finding child care for your child it will be a snap but to privide child care is another story as a lot is based on your work expierience, qualifications, people trusting you as a person, a police check will have to be made on you. There are lots of resourses out there on starting a home based child care and as long as you have landed immegrant status you can work a job like this in Canada.

You have to be eligible for and receive a work visa to work in Canada.

You have to go through the application process to live and work in Canada, you have to PROVE you have sufficient financial resources to support yourself while in Canada. You may have to have a medical, you will have to have a criminal record check,

Check Immigration Canada website for details and fees involved. Read answers to other people who have asked about working in Canada.

You cannot apply for or receive approval for a job that can be filled by a Canadian. Your employer has to PROVE that there arent any Canadians capable of or available to fill the position for which he is hiring someone from outside the country. And both of you have to PROVE you have the education and qualifications for the job.

Care Giver? I would say not a hope in hell.
