Firstly-GOOD LUCK. The US has got to be one of the hardest places to move to right now. I'm from the US and am living in Mexico. currently not working but I have in the past. I think first you have to get a tourist visa to enter the US. Then you can start applying for a green card to work. Later comes naturalization if you're interested in that.

You probably first need a visa. I don't know why you can't get a green card, but if you don't have one, or a student visa you'd be working in the country illegally, and that would cause you problems with employers...like them not paying you.
