How do i get carpet laying job in australia.i am from uk?

i have 5 yrs domestic carpet fitting experience.i want to live and work in australia for atleast 6 months.ideally i would like to get a job with commercial flooring company,to learn the skills i lack.any advice

OK, you have a few problems:

The visas you can get are a working holiday visa or long term business visa. The working holiday visa only allows 3 months work at a job, then you have to change employer. A long term business visa means you must get sponsored by a company who will guarantee you a minimum wage and medical for the length of your stay.

If you are younger than 30 then apply for a working holiday visa and go there with savings (visa requirement is 拢2000 minimum, and they require proof you have it before they ler you in the coutry). Sydney or Melbourne will be best for you as they are very large cities an quite European. They may have a demand for your skill (Australia is facing a skills shortage at the moment, although I'm not sure if your skill is included)
