Any tips on job hunting in Australia?

Just arrived to Austrlia (Brisbane), don't know anybody here, looking for a job in Audit or Accounting, any good advice ?

Go to the nearest Job Futures or Centrelink office, check out their computer terminals. In regards to Centrelink, you will not be able to access the jobs you find unless you are registered as unemployed, but take a pad and pen to write down addresses.

Go to some of the major recruitment agencies ie Julia Ross www.juliaross.com.au or Hudson hudsonresroucing.com.au and get an agent that specialises in fin.services recruitment. also Macquarie bank is always hiring and it's probably one of the most respected institutions in the financial services industry in australia. www.macquarie.com.au
if possible I would start on contract roles first so you can find something you like.
