Is it easy to find a part-time job in Perth, Australia? |
I'm talking waitressing or something similar. And how much do you get paid per hour. Thanks To be frankly, it is hard to get a part time job in perth unless you are PR or citizen because at first they will look into this criteria. Then, if you with similar experience you will be more advantage. I know because I have been looking for part time jobs in perth for nearly 5 months and I also been through a 2 stages interview for a part time job. The pay will be depends on where you work, what type of restaurant if you are looking for waitperson position, who is the owner or the manager. Of course there will be minimum pay because of the law. If you work in an asia reataurant, the pay will be low. Some might well as low as the mininum pay rate. Mostly others will be paying higher rate and as I told you that is hard to get because they will mostly grand those who are PR or local citizen. There are lots of personnel agencies that can help you find work but for waitressing (or bartending) work, the best bet is to approach a pub or restaraunt in person with a CV. If you're presentable, can speak good english, have a work visa and can hold a conversation, finding a job in hospitality won't be hard. Also, it's NOT customary to tip in Australia so usually the base wage is all you'll get. Having said that, minimum wage is at least $15 and living in Perth is cheap-as. Most of the restaraunts are located in Northbridge but these suburbs also have restaraunts and what not: - Fremantle - Subiaco - Cottesloe Good luck. |
