What do I need to do to get a job in Australia? |
I'll be graduating from university in July and have been thinking about moving to Australia and trying to get a job there. Your last sentence made me laugh. Australia is one of the most difficult countries in the world to get a work visa and permit for. If we all just fly out there and get a job Britain would be empty and Australia would be full up. You will need a visa - a working one at that. I know they are short of qualified accountancy people and there is a fast track for them.. you will need a work permit, and if you are intending to live permanently here you will have to apply and qualify for immigration dam.... of course you need all kinds of permits. you need a visa, work permit and i think it is better if you have family out there. Contact the Australian Embassy in London you need a work permit. To be granted a work permit you need to have an occupation that is in demand. you shouldn't have a problem. sometimes the immigration ask that someone sponsors you. i.e an employer, friend or family member.this is to financially support you in case you have problems. you must first find a job then apply to Australian embassy. You will need at least one working brain cell to be employed in Australia. Because you are of the superior race you will need a work permit from the Australian consulate (London, Manchester) You need a trade to get in, im a qualified panelbeater in the UK and it was VERY difficult to get a visa so i can work there it involved doing alot of work to get it but i got it and off to Oz in august. so unless you are qualified in somthing you aint getting in. Plus they only seem to be taking on trades they need. Australia have it rite, unlike the UK. go to BritishExpats.com.It's brilliant site, loads of threads in regard to these questions.Good one for you Jon,if you read this .Best of Luck |
