How can i get a job fast in toowoomba, Australia?

I'm so desperate for work at the moment that im willing to scrape **** off the floor if it meant i got paid. im a foreigner in a country i dont know. i got no money and its really starting to depress me. anybody know what i can do cos ive tried just about everything short of going to every company and asking for work.

meat works across most of queensland are looking for workers. also try www.seek.com.au there are many jobs on that site you could try an employment company your local centerlink can help

go to every shop/factory and asking for work.

do you have a work permit allowing you to work in Australia?
if not it is illegal for anyone to employ you

fRUIT PICKING? depending on the season, its a way of traveling around the country, hard work. you use to be able to get callanders for seasonal work from employment agencies, maybe you can now google them. Like i said it can be hard work, its realy a lifestyle for a while. I enjoyed it for a bit

Have you tried going to the employment agencies? I know they work on commision and prefer to get jobs for the centerlink people, but you could ask them where to go for more advice at least.

If you are happy to do labouring work then you could try calling builders and other contractors. I know a friend of mine from Cuba picked up some paid work just being a 'run about' on job sites building houses. You dont need anything but a friendly attitude and a strong back. And he had limited english and no experience.
The meat works are ok but they are not in town and you might have to arrange travel.
I am pretty sure that there are sites you can go to that arrange fruit picking jobs for you.
If you are over doing university, you could also try some of the services they offer there as well.
Your idea about calling everyone is not a bad idea. It does work but might take awhile to get someone who has a job available.

My best advice would be to ask everyone you know and their friends. That's how i found out about my current job.
Good luck!!
