If not, what would you prefer to do. plz include an email I don't have a lot of time, you know, cause I'm and Architect and an Engineer but I'll try. I own the company and am a licensed civil engineer. This license allows me to practice Architecture as well. I design houses and do all of the structural analysis to make sure that they stand up. I sit at my desk in front of a computer all day. In a good year I make 170,000, bad year 144,000. I took math and art classes and got a four year college degree. Its a great career to be self employed in. Math is important up to the geometry and some trig level. Physics is importand to do engineering. It's a great job and I love to see my creations built and lived in. lign="right" > Sign in to vote! I was a software engineer. I will answer as if I still were, okay? 1. Software Engineer II 2. I sit at a desk and program a computer in the C and C++ programming languages. 3. See (2) above. Between programming, I test what I did. 4. I sit at a nice comfy desk, in a nice warm office. Not too shabby! 5. Um, hm, 60K - 72K / year. 6. I wanted to be a biologist, and didn't make it! I was active on the Commodore 64 BBSs, and got noticed by someone who called me up and hired me to program a game. 7. I was mostly self-taught. I did take some courses in C 8086 assembly language CoBOL, ForTran, Pascal. 8. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science would have been nice. Most of my co-workers had those. 9. I spent some time as a Software Engineer III. It came with a nice raise, but the workload was killer! I took a demotion back to Software Engineer II, and was much happier. 10. Used both! Lots of math and physics in computer game programming. 11. Other jobs in computer programming. Computer Programmer II, Systems Analyst, etc. 12. I'd like to be a Software Engineer II again. It was fun most of the time. But, time marches on, and the company I was working for wasn't doing games for the Gameboy Color any more. LOL. lign="right" > Sign in to vote! lass="explain-text">Sometimes none of the answers get it just right. If so, pick "No Best Answer".
