Can we do a better job resolving the immigration issue by fixing what's broken on the other side of the border

When the issue of immigration made a major appearance last year, and we all know that it's been a major issue, I tried to answer one of the CNN polls as I sat there and watched all of the protesting and marching on TV; from the east coast to the west, to the protesting of the fencing of the border. And my answer was, and after having done some reading, ironically due to trying to understand the issues going on in Iraq, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and of course our own neighbors, Mexico, Central and South America; books on fair trade, globalization, the new US of Europe, the East Asian crisis, the reconstruction and genocide in Russia and Africa and that's only the top of it. My answer was basically, and I haven't truly heard much about it, the reconstruction; lets say Mexico, better trade rules and regulation, quotas, adjustments to a changing economy, NAFTA caused them to lose just as much as they gained, job creation in adjusting to that changing economy as the answer..

The other side of the border is not our problem--the illegal's already here are our problem!!
I may have either answered or even rephrased this question, trying to make it less ambiguous. Basically until you can figure out what's causing the problem (on the other side), the problem here only gets worse, since it's compounded each year. Problems that aren't that difficult to fix...

The leadership in Mexico is too corrupt. We already send tons of money their and they use it to reinforce their military to help protect the drug runners and fire on our boarder patrol.
President Bush claims that our government cannot find the 12 million plus illegals that are here and then expects us to believe that the government could find them to give them a fine and let them step out and back in again. Sounds like double talk to me. He is clearly for amnesty and does not plan to secure our boarder.
I kinda agree with you, and I think that people who care about their (our) home countries should get together and somehow try and make a few changes, things are'nt as easy over there as it is here though. I had the same idea and its inspirational that other people are also thinking the same thing. thanks.
Many issues......can we fix corruption? Many companies move over seas to pay less money to the workers, them is create jobs that pay well,
I love my country (and this country too) and if we can make a decent living over there we stay with our family and friends....is so hard live with out your extend support and came here learns other languages just because we do not have the same opportunities where we came from. Every one that want to make a decent living deserve an opportunity, many families are separate, woman and children stay there, man came here to send money to they families. So sad so lonely.
