Why do so many people allow the issue to be turned into something it is not when it comes to illegal?

It is not about race.

The only issue conservatives have with illegal immingration is that people have entered our country illegally and are allowed to get away with it.

Illegals don't just come from Mexico or other parts of Latin America. Many illegals come from Asia, Africa, The Middle East and Eastern Europe. A few even come from western Europe and Austrailia. We want our borders secured on all sides and we want illegals deported regardless of where they are from. We want employers who knowingly hire illegals to be held responsible for their actions.

I repeat: the issue is not race. The issue is that allowing people to get away with entering the country illegally makes waiting lists longer for those trying to enter the country legally, takes jobs from Americans and weakens National Security.

I agree with you 100%. It is not about race. It is about our society being turned upside down. It is about our children's future. It is about US citizen's not being able to receive health care from their employers, but illegals getting health care and the government paying for it. It is about illegals working for less money and driving down wages.

There are lawful ways to enter this country and there are illegal ways to come into this country. I understand it takes a long time to get citizenship here, but you can still be here and work legally without being a citizen. If people from other countries want to take the legal route and will return to their country when they are supposed to that is great, but what do they do when they have a really good job? Can they extend their VISA?

I see both sides. Their government sucks and does not want to take care of them, so they will come to a country that will. But, how it affects the US citizens is not good and there needs to be comprehensive reform.

i agree, but people get heated up from both sides and thats when the word "racism" is miss used.
why do some people(like YOU) are allowed to voice their opinion without knowing anything about the issue?

I AGREE THAT THIS FORUM IS FOR IMMIGRATION DISCUSSIONS but you do not speak for all when you say it is not about race. For me it is not about race, for you it is not. BUT unfourtunately there are others in our country and at this site that have hatred for other skin colors and for those and u know who you are..... IT IS ABOUT RACE
