How Racist is Australia and Australians?

I heard that White Australians are becoming more and more racist. It seems they are extremely bigoted against the Chinese and people of Middle Eastern origin (Arabs). It seems many people of European heritage want a white Australia, is this true?

How could white Australians be so selfish. The Europeans already have USA, Canada and Australia in addition to Europe as their new discovered land. Much of all the problems in Asia is due to overpopulation and unemployment. Afterall there is so much land in these new countries, and only if the Europeans shared the new lands equally with their Asian friends can there be proper distribution of land and jobs.

It is time for Australians to rethink their policy. Any thoughts from Australians or anyone?

I live in Australia and yes they are super racist!!! I've lived in UK, Canada and the States and Australia tops them all for racism.

The thought that this country can't hold anymore people is ridiculous. Our cities are empty compared to the rest of the world. Perth only has under 2 million in the whole metropolitan area .. Perth could have at least 12 million easily ... it is so spread out!!

Australians (and this is generalising, obviously not all like this) tend to hate anyone that isn't australian, be it English, American, Asian, Middle Eastern.

Oh and another thing, if you say anything bad about their country ... then you are in for a bollocking, no matter how true it is.

Aussies have their head in the sand about lots of things and racism is on of them. Come and see for yourself .. just make sure you learn to speak with an Aussie accent or you may be subjected to some abuse (it is usually just verbal abuse though).

I welcome anyone that wants to move here .... as long as they do it through the right channels and get checked properly for any anti social backgrounds ...... more the merrier I say ...

I don't think we are any more racist than anyone else.
Wherever you go people fear the unknown.

The Australian Landscape can't environmentally support many more people than what we have....we are too dry and infertile.

I assume you are not from Australia, Because if you were you will know that the media exagaerattes alot and if you are from Australia you probally around with the minority of racists. I know that as Australians we are a multicultural country and embrace multicultralisim however if a minority decide not to accept Other ethnic groups we As Australaia a Whole a racisit country as there are Racisits everwhere and that there behaviours should not reflect on there country or ethnicity
