I am confused about my options........?

I have been teaching in Thailand for over a year now (I am a good guy - no John Karr.......lol). I just completed my contract and can't seem to decide what I want to do with myself.

Remain in Asia or return to the states?

I like the lifestyle out here alot although you can't make as much money here, but you can practically live on nothing.

On the contrary, living in the states, although I can make money there, it's boring. It's possible to return to my old job though.

I have applied to a few teaching gigs in Asia.

Also, if anyone knows other sectors I could try to work in Thailand or other options I should consider I would appreciate it.

I have a BA, 4 years teaching experience, and a TEFL certificate.

One possible option is to teach in a government school. I don't know if there are any in Thailand, but a high school teacher of mine got a job teaching at a govt. school on a military base in Korea, and she loved it. I've also known a person who taught at a military base in Japan. Might be worth looking into...

I dont know anything about your field, but I will give you my opinion. From what you are saying, I think you sound happier in Asia. At the risk of sounding cliche, I have to say that money isnt everything. You can make a lot of money, but if you are not happy with everything else, what joy will you have? Ithink you should stay in Asia... they are alot healthier there believing in natural medicine and I think this will not only extend your life, but keep it healthier and happier.... that is the key
After living in Asia for 12 years I can tell you this.
If you return to the states, it will not be same before.

You have changed a lot. But you don't know it yourself. You will not like the life in the States anymore. Happiness and the quality of life is better in Asia. You know it.
Keep teaching - catch your dreams........don't think about returning to stress, cold winter, people only taking care them self, tax..etc...
