I am a Chinese. I am asked to do regional sales 4 India (80% time) & based in Singapore.Shd I consider at all? |
Singapore is in East Asia, while India is in West Asia (up to 4 hours away). I am in career transition. But I am a foreigner to India. Does it make any sense to pusue this job opportunity? Pls advise!! No problem lah. Easy communciations in an English speaking environment and technological advance in IT means anyone can work anywhere. The key is knowing well your counterparts or colleagues for rapport in working relationship. Your will be surprised that Indians are interested to know you at a personal level. It means your colleagues there will extend you an invitation and expect you to fly over for a wedding of one of their children. It is just another culture to learn and appreciate. Source(s): have worked for an Indian-owned conglomerate. You will be surprise how similar the cultures are and most Indians speak english anyway. I always want to go to India and see the Taj Mahal. As Sir Edwin Arnold put it, " Not a piece of architecture, as other buildings are, but the proud passions of an emperor's love wrought in living stones." I were you, I would take the job. Think of it as a challenge and a chance to enrich yourself. In fact, I would base myself in India than Singapore. It is a fancinating country. Carpe Diem! IF YOU BELIEVE YOU CAN,YOU CAN.......IF YOUR COMPANY IS WELL ORGANISED WHY YOU WORRY YOU CANT HANDLE THE JOB,BESIDE YOUR ASSOCIATES WILL GIVE AND SHARE THE EXPERIENCES WITH YOU ANYWAY,IT IS NOT A SUGGESTION FORM ME,BUT THE MATTER OF FACT YOU ARE NOT WORKING ALONE.DO SOME RESEARCH OF THE SALES AND MARKET OF INDIA REGION FROM THERE YOU WILL EXPLORE OF THE INFORMATION ON HOW IT WORKS TOGETHER.OK.PLEASE TAKE IT EASY,I DO CARE FOR YOU. |
