Employment dilemma.? |
i'm an asian who stays in asia, i'd like to get a career in the USA, i have written the resume and cv, and posted them on some job-career sites eg. monster.com and careerbuilder.com, but i didn't get any replies for months already. do i have to process some application forms first at the USA embassy in asia, before even putting the resume online? or what? can someone explain to me clearly the correct procedures on how to apply and get a career in the USA? Ideally is to get a job first and have the employer apply the relevant Visa for you. However, this won't be easy. There are others who applied for job on-line for 2 years and still no offer. Be practical. lign="right" > Sign in to vote! The likely problem is that the company either sees that you are living in a foreign country or are in fact not a citizen. They might guess you want them to pay for your moving expenses to the US. Also, getting a visa for you to work for them is expensive and not always easy. Unless you are really unique and offer skills you think they can't find anywhere else in the US you probably won't get a lot of replies. You will just have to keep trying to apply for specific jobs you really think you are qualified for and send a very customized cover letter explaining your situation with each one. Even Americans who just leave a posted resume on a job site usually don't get a response. lign="right" > Sign in to vote! lass="explain-text">Sometimes none of the answers get it just right.
