Christians, testing your faith...? |
If a giant meteor came and destroyed your house and your immediate family, you got fired from your job, all your friends abandoned you, the country went to war, everybody abandoned religion, you had no food, everybody was on their own...etc... Would you still believe? If you say NO, then your faith isn't strong right now, if you say YES, you don't really know because it hasn't happened to you, and you keep thinking, "well, God wouldn't let that happen to me", but you are very wrong. And if it happens, you would lose your faith. Do you only believe because your life is somewhat decent? If your faith was put to the true test and everything you take for granted was lost, would you still love God? How DARE some of you say that the poor people suffering from starvation in asia deserved the tsunami because of their sins!!! You are just lucky and you don't know what it is like for other people less fortunate than you! Yours is really a long question, however you are right. Nobody has the right to say that the people of S/E Asia deserved the Tsunami because of their sins. That's preposterous. Only God knows why these nbatural phenomenons take place. Or if you will- these freaks of nature cause havock. I donot know about christians but Muslims do not waver in their faith. Well aside from your rant about the tsunami, I'd like to answer your question.... There is a Pastor I know who's son was just killed in a motorcycle accident. The son was in high school, a good student, an athlete and got good grades. Do you think that this man just gave up? NO. He knows and trusts in God no mater what. He is mourning and greeving for the son he lost, but God is in control. This Missionary Pastor and his family are there for each other to comfort and care for each other. That's what Christians do. No one ever said that being a Christain is a bed of roses. In fact, Jesus himself promises us that we (those who follow him) will have troubles. John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Modified 1 year ago I think a quote from Nelly Furtado sums it up. "I only believe in divinity, when I can see it's sweet sweet rays." Modified 1 year ago I would still trust God because this life is not all there is! Well most of that stuff has happened to me. And my faith is strong. Most has been restored and if it weren't, it's all Gods any way. |
