Help! Background check! My previous company lost record of my work experience. What can I do? |
Hi all, I have big trouble now. I have worked as a summer intern at a big company a few years ago. Now I was looking for a job and I put that summer intern position in my resume. I thought since my experience is real, there should be no problem at all. But now I got an offer, and I am facing a background check form. In order to make sure everything is precise, I called that company(I was working in their Asia office), but they say they didn't keep records for summer intern. I've called them a lot of times and I tried to help them recall my experience. But my project manager at that time left the company. The company had moved and many new guys joined. The receptionist was very impatient and even hung up my calls. I don't want to withdraw this period of working experience from my resume, because everything is real and I am telling the truth. I don't know how to talk to the current hiring manage who gave me the offer -- this type of issues are highly sensitive... Could anybody give I would have to agree, if you got the internship through a school then they would have some documentation. There are forms to fill out upon entering the internship and exiting the internship. I dont think that sueing them would be a good idea because yes you will burn that bridge. Sorry, thats a bad situation. There has to be paperwork somewhere.. Who set you up for the internship? Maybe they can vouch for you. |
