I am a pro.gardener with much experience. I would like a job working at a large estate home, how to do this.? |
I have a very vast knowledge of all types of gardening, especially tropical. I have traveled all over asia learning about medicinal plants. I just feel that my vast knowledge is worth more than $13.00 per hr. which is what I getting paid now for working for a company that doesn't appreciate what I do for them. I was even employed at Disney for 13 years learning about Horticulture as I worked. I'm 45 now and need an employer who will pay me what I'm worth and who will respect in me and the work I do. I'm also good with animals and children. I have never even had a traffic ticket in more than 20 years. I can be background checked from the fed. level down to the city. I live in Florida and always thought about being incharge of a nice big private estate home. Well I would love some fed back on what steps I should take to pursue my goel or (dream). I'd suggest printing or have someone print for you, a brief description of your experience, licenses you have, insurance bond (if you don't have one, get one), the rates you charge, and of course, your contact information (be sure you have an answering machine). Put it in the mailboxes of estates which are in your geographic area (i.e., that you are willing to drive to). If you get a better job offer, great. If not you might pick up week-end work at better rates than your job pays. If this grows large enough, you can quit the job and become your own boss. And don't under-price yourself; good gardeners are hard to find. Good luck! lign="right" > Sign in to vote! lass="explain-text">Sometimes none of the answers get it just right.
