Immigration a way of controlling population?

When our great grandparents came to this country. They lived in fear of being sent back to Europe or Asia. They worked in the menial jobs & lived in the 'slums', there were always people threatening them with one thing or another. Many politicians were on the take, who controlled whole ethnic groups. Do you think the politicians that are so for open borders feel they could control the new groups of immigrants with that same fear factor as their numbers increase?

Our great grandparents and grandparents came here legally but still they had fear. That is because this country was so different than theirs, they still feared if they committed a crime or didn't work right their boss could send them back! Ignororance, yes, but that is how it was.. and I don't see this this new group any different.

Politicians want the immigrants here simply for their democratic vote.

Immigrants that come to this nation legally have nothing to fear from any politician. Those that come here illegally apparently have nothing to fear from this present group of politicians. If I have my way, this present group that supports amnesty will be long gone after the next election. Any supporter of Amnesty will not get my vote.

My great great great great etc grandparents had no such fear, neither did my great great grandparents on the most recent immigrating side. They didn't live in slums, and I can suppose farmwork has its share of menial jobs, but the only time I heard tell of any threat was during WWII when some of their more recently immigrating German friends were put in relocation camps. My family were already generations here, so it didn't happen to them.

Why are you rewriting history?

I think they want slave labor on the neocon side and greater profits for the top 2% at the expense of the bulk of the citizenry. On the left they want more poor and less educated and easily lead people to cement their own political agenda where THEY would become the top 2% in a 'brave new world'.

We WERE controlling population by intentional reduction of our family sizes to those we could afford and illegal immigration is ruining this.

my ancestors came on the mayflower. united states Americans and legal citizens can lose their jobs. we go to jail if we dis obey the laws. it's no different then them. we lose our jobs because they know illegals will accept $2.oo an hour while we wont.

evidently they don't fear committing crime because they did that right off the bat, by breaking the Law of this land and illegally crossing it's borders... They may fear being deported because of that crime...

there is many people that still come from europe with a tourist visa and they never go back, they melt int he population thanks through their skin color and noone bothers them, mexicans an latinos in general are the biggest number, but to dont hear anyone complain about racism, we have to see polish, hungarians, irish, rumanians, albanians, serbians, and africans and west indians get deported, they melt inthe population thanks to their skin color either black or white, everyone here assumes all latinos are illegal, you dont know if that person who has accent is illegal too, immigration should work equally, I dont see them breaking into chinese restaurants or jamaican restaurants or greek restaurants, or factories in the south,, seems they dont want only the brown immigrants, I am an american citizen , and I am latino and piss me off, people assuming we all mexicans and we all illegals when I know a lot of europeans come with visa and never go back

U.S. has been suffering many loopholes in controlling Immigration; by instance you should know this.
Did you know that between 1890 and 1910, twenty million Europeans came to the United States. After 1945, large numbers of immigrants arrived from Latin America and Asia.
Most of them came just listed on manifest with the names and last names. The shipping company presented a passenger list to the Collector of Customs, and the immigrants made whatever Customs declaration was necessary and went on their way. They were not control at our border either population by then.
Regarding Controlling population. How do you think they will control the borders or population when they can't even control or trace pedophiles, sexual predators that are inside of our Country.
