WHY HAVE SO MANY PEOPLE FORGOTTEN ABOUT THE GHETTOs IN OUR COUNTRY???

like, people are so fixed on helping out kids in Africa and Asia and rural parts of South and Central America...
and THEY HATE US!!!
we are the number one charity contributing country IN THE WORLD. if another country has a disaster, we are the first people to come in and help out.
then there are the kids here who are born in the ghetto to poor parents who can't make ends meet and the dad is abusive and the mom works three jobs and there are a bunch of gangs and drugs and alcohol and depression and the schools are bad and don't have money for books etc.
i know there are people who abuse welfare and stuff,
but i have lived abroad...
they are L-A-Z-Y.
they wait for US to do their work!
we should help our people out before anyone elses!!!

sorry, i didn't mean the poor people in those countries, but the middle class/rich are lazy. no joke.
and most every single country in the world is developed now. it is a stereotype that all these countries are still poor and starving etc.
France for instance(although already thought of as wealthy) is in an uproar because their new president wants them to work harder...like NORTH AMERICANS=0

I have always wondered why the American government (and I am not American) keepd giving billions of dollars in foreign aids, when there are starving and uneducated people in America. Like, can't the government use some of that money as educational subsidies so that the cost of college is not ridiculous?!

I do agree. What you said, in different words complained about the same thing. Why adopt a boy from china when there are boys in america that needs a home. There are so many homeless, poor people, parents that cant afford to take their kids to the doctors, but people choose to help kids in a far away country when children here are not being taken care of.
That just bugs me!!

Well... see most people depend on their country to fix roads schools etc. They use their race i guess to their advantage. For example black communities always talk about how people wont fix certain places or build community buildings because of they are black. But they need to help themselves sometimes you know. SO im basically saying that people wont start helping until they help themselves. BTW im bad with these questions but i hope i helped

The government doesn't care. Look what happen to Katrina victims. From what I read the government turned down a whole lot of money for the Katrina victims. Do they care? NO!!! When you talk about dad's being abusive that doesn't apply to everyone. When you say "Ghetto's" whom are you speaking of? Trust me no one wants to live pay check to pay check but our economy is changing everyday. People have nowhere to go because the house values are skyrocketing. Some people are unable to go to college to advance their careers do to financial reasons. Yes. America is the wealthiest country in the world but at the same time people suffer because the government is corrupt. Take a look at the economy.

I sort of agree with you.Why help others when we do not help our own.
That has to done by local authority or NGO. The international assistance by US Govt. or its NGO or Church are non-political but many habour the feelings that they might have other intentions.
In Iran, and Indonesia they were one of the first to response but not well recieved or were force out even they do a good jobs. The old and retired american ,are so willing to move out shipped out to help. Very good in relief works or charity works.
I dont think they can function well in USA , if we view at a different angle. Most people my not finance it or support it.
Pushing the resposiblity to its government.

The forgotten people should not make excuses for themselves but must work harder. It is the survival of the fittest.
