FIBA Basketball?

Argentina struggled a bit in the second half last night!!!! And US did a nice job against P.R.!!!! So, do you think Argentina stands any chance at beating US?

No. The reason why is they aren't taking this tournament seriously. They don't have any of their stars playing. Let me ask you, where is Ginobli, Oberto, etc. While team USA is taking this tournament almost as a us vs. the world expereince. But all that being said they still have the best chance of beating the USA. But they probably won't.

Argentina is one of the true international powers, they are the only team that I can think of in this tournament that could beat the US.

That said, if the US has a hot shooting night, Team Argentina can close shop and call it a night.

agentina will destroy the usa. the nba players dont pass enough or play defense hard. its too late to teach them. magic bird jordan were the last of dying breed.

not really.

G-Man is right. After failing to qualify for the Beijing Olympics because of a loss to Greece at the last Olympics finals, it served as a wakeup call the NBA players and basketball fans in the U.S. We thought we could beat anyone in the tournament after a series of blowout games in the beginning of the last Olympics. The rest of the world team's quickly regrouped and evaluated the U.S. team's strength and weaknesses by watching our olympic game videos. I felt that the last U.S. team had too many weaknesses (the lack of: outside shooting; a lockdown perimeter defender; a defensive enforcer in the middle; a distributing point guard; ability to gel as a team, and the defensive ability to guard the perimeter). Opponents were able to pick that up and defeated us in the finals. That won't happen this time around. The U.S. has figured out what our weakness was and added the right pieces this time around to make up for it. Every players seems to complement each other and the chemistry has certainly improved as well as our defense and outside shooting. Argentina is still a great team and probably the top 5 teams in the Olympics but I can't see anyone stopping the U.S. in the FIBA besides ourselves and injuries.
