Will they find a job in South Africa? |
Thousands of young kids will finish school in South Africa in a few weeks. Will they find work in South Africa or is it best for them to go outside of South Africa? Is it worth it for out kids to work abroad and come back after a year or two? Yes, Cheri is right, it's really scary! Not many people can afford to send their kids out of the country to further their education but if you can, then it's about the best option right now. As far as them coming back afterwards, well.....there is never any point then because they still wouldn't find good jobs to cater for their qualifications. However, I must admit that SA kids still make every effort to learn at school whilst overseas it's a different ball game. The kids there make the rules! It is really scary what will become of the kids and where will they go - mean adults don't even find a job easily and the kids have a their whole life ahead of them with maybe a wife and kids to support I am seriously thinking about returning to SA but the big deterrent is the wages. An example of this is in my profession as a jockey i can comfortably earn a 6 figure annual income without being in the top echelon of riders, as i get $155 for every horse ridden plus a % of prizemoney if any is earnt. So in Australia i can earn upto $1200 a day for a full book of 8 rides, do this 6 or seven days a week and its a good weekly wage I agree..I have several nephews and nieces in SA who are either finishing Uni or finishing school and unfortunately some of my brothers won't be able to send their kids overseas and it's really sad cos these kids have a lot of potential to excel....I'm in the same boat as Fro....I make the same amount of money in my bookeeping job here in OZ for a 15hr week as opposed to a 40hr week in a HR management job in SA....my hubby's recently been head hunted by Denny Mushrooms in SA and although the money isn't not too bad...it would still mean that I have to find a fulltime job.....I'm not sure if I can give up the lifestyle of a 9o莽lock start job and time off when I want it... Hi Mate Thanks, now you all made me depressed for the day. I'm already starting to think twice about coming back in December. It's a difficult one, chances are they will struggle. After finishing my diploma i really struggled to get a job so i know the pain. I just feel for them. |
